Click here to view in HTML

Dear Members,

One of the key pillars of the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package is the focus on job retention. Please refer to the FAQ prepared by the Ministry of Human Resources.

There are two programmes that you will need to be aware of. The Employee Retention Programme (ERP) and Wage Subsidy Programme. The ERP is for employees that are under No-Pay-Leave only while for Wage Subsidy, the employee is still earning full salary. Please see the chart below prepared by Socso. More more information, visit Sosco website. (https://www.perkeso.gov.my/index.php/ms/)

The Wage Subsidy Programme will provide to the employer RM 600 per employee per month for three months up to a maximum of 100 employees. The company will have to show a decline in revenue of at least 50% since January 2020. The Employee Retention Programme is for a minimum of one month up to a maximum of six months and for employees who have agreed to go on No-Pay-Leave where RM 600 will be provided per month per employee.

For both schemes, the employee has to be earning less than RM 4,000 a month and registered under Employee Insurance System (EIS).

In addition to the programmes above, levy payment to the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) has also been waived till September 2020. Employer contributions to EPF may also be deferred, rescheduled and restructured. More details will be available from 15 April 2020.

Stay Safe!
